The 7 Advantages of Maintaining a To-Do List

1. Stop missing important tasks:

A to do list helps us know the different things that have do be
done so that we do not miss anything.

2. Don't rely on your memory:

A to do list is more dependable than our memory. Once we have a
written a list of the things that we have to do, we can prioritize
and decide which jobs should be done first.

3. Combine tasks to save time:

A to do list helps us to avoid repetition of labor. For example,
if we have to deliver a document at an office and collect a
document from another office which is on the same block as the
first office, both these tasks can be done together.
It saves us the time energy and effort of going to the same
place twice.

4. Completing tasks gives you a sense of accomplishment:

A to do list enables us to cross out the tasks which we have
finished doing and towards the end of the day when we see the
list of things that we have crossed out, it certainly will give
us a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. It also has the
effect of shocking us if nothing at all has been done and
crossed out.

5. Move unaccomplished tasks to tomorrow's list:

If anything remains on today's list, it can be carried over to
tomorrow's list and that is an excellent way of preparing a
to-do list for the day, by examining the 'to-do' list of
yesterday and carrying out any task that have been left without
completion.

Now, when we talk about preparing a to-do list, there two
important points that should be covered.

6. The 'to-do' list should be realistic:

It is not enough that only daily 'to-do' lists are prepared.
We say that the list should be realistic because it should
include only things that can be accomplished in a day. There
is no sense in preparing a list that includes items that can
only be done over a week. And it is here that it becomes
relevant to prepare a 'to-do' list for a week, month and year.

7. Pin-up your to do list and carry one with you:

It is best to pin up weekly and monthly list so you are
reminded of them throughout the day. If you have to travel
to customer locations carry a copy with you to stay organized.
A very crucial point that you should bear in mind is that a
weekly list is not something to be done on the last day of the
week and a monthly list is not something to be done at the end
of the month. This is what most people do. Instead, take the
time to prepare your lists at the beginning of each week and month.

2 Ways to use your Business Cards Successfully

1. Make your business card unique and graphically appealing

Once in a while, even the most untidy of business people will sort through their various business cards accumulated and throw away the least important ones. However, interesting or unusual business cards may be allowed to remain regardless of their immediate importance. To make sure your cards survive this selection process, make them unique and graphically appealing.

-> Choose an intriguing color scheme
-> Have important or useful data printed on the back
-> Use holograms and optical illusions
-> Use translucent plastic instead of paper

If your card looks expensive, it will be harder for your prospects to dispose of it.

2. Your business card must be worth money to prospects

Prospects will not throw away your business cards if they are worth something to them. Useful information printed on the back of the business card might help. However, for prospects to think of your card as a real windfall, which should never be thrown away, its value must translate into dollars and cents. To do this, contact

-> Local restaurants
-> Barber shops
-> Pizza parlors
-> Photos
-> Fast food chains

Get them to give anyone presenting your business card a discount on their products or services.

They will not be doing you any favors by agreeing - it is you who will be giving them free publicity and who will be referring new customers to them. In return, your card will become a discount card that is not only worth saving, but that your prospects will want to carry with them at all times. Have the business card made with durable material (e.g. plastic)
